Open Match Autocancellation and Court Release

Automatically cancel an unfilled open match, or release its court, at set times before it starts.

Clubs can now automatically cancel unfilled open matches, or release their court, at set times before the match starts. The policy is configured separately for Public and Invite matches and is off by default.

Settings per match type
  • Match time cutoff: a time of day, in the club's local timezone, that splits matches into two groups: those starting before it and those starting at or after it. Each group has its own conditions.

  • Action: Cancel match releases the court and refunds paid players under the Booking Refund Rule. Unbook court releases the court while the match stays open with its players, with no refund.

  • Conditions: four per group, one for each number of empty slots (4 down to 1), each set to a number of hours before the match starts. Any condition can be set to N/A to switch it off.

  • A slot only counts as filled once that player has paid.

Example

Public matches with a cutoff at 15:00. A match starting Saturday at 10:30 is checked on Thursday at 10:30, Friday at 10:30, Friday at 22:30 and Saturday at 04:30. The first check whose condition is true applies the action.

Unfilled matches no longer hold courts until start time. Clubs get courts back early enough to rebook them, and can treat daytime, evening and league matches differently.

How to access: go to Settings > Open Match Policies and turn on the Autocancellation toggle in each match type section you want it applied to.
